peele-dixie water treatment plant
This water treatment plant was built in 1926, and definitely evinces an aesthetic awareness rarely found in more recently-built public structures. It's won recognition from the city for "urban environmental design," is nationally recognized as a "water landmark site" by the American Water Works Association, treats 20 million gallons of water a day... and is only a few blocks away from my house.
